Associate Attorney Justin Rhodes joined Guyton Thuente, P.A. in 2014. He works with the other attorneys on employment-based and family-based immigration cases and naturalization cases. He has experience in employment-based non-immigrant cases (H-1Bs, TNs, O-1As, O-1Bs, and E-3s), employment-based immigrant cases (labor certifications, persons of extraordinary ability, and outstanding researchers), and family-based immigrant cases (fiancé petitions, petitions for immediate relatives of U.S. citizens or permanent residents, and applications to remove conditions on residence).
Mr. Rhodes earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Gustavus Adolphus College, summa cum laude, and a Master of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Minnesota.
Mr. Rhodes received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Minnesota Law School, cum laude, in 2012. He was admitted to the Minnesota State Bar in October 2013 and is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association (MSBA) and the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). During law school, he won a Best Brief Award in Legal Writing; was awarded an Upper Midwest Human Rights Fellowship from the University of Minnesota Law School’s Human Rights Center; interned with Judge Dale B. Lindman; and clerked with the Ramsey County Public Defender’s Office.
His experience abroad includes work and study in South America, the Middle East, and southern Africa. For several years, he worked as a teaching assistant, helping adult immigrants and refugees learn English and obtain their GEDs. He currently volunteers at the West 7th Community Center immigration legal clinic. He is conversational in Spanish.
